Renew a Professional Engineer Registration

Has your Address, Phone Number, or Email changed? Please update your contact information by logging into your account here. 

1. Click the three lines in the top left corner also known as the “hamburger icon”
2. Click “Credentials”
3. Click the arrow under “Actions”
4. Click “Apply” under “Change Address Email Phone”

Applying for a Name Change, please email your request to dbr.designprof@dbr.ri.gov. Include your registration number and attach legal documentation of name change.

The Department launched a new licensing system as of November 3^rd, 2025. 

You’ll continue to access the system using the same URL as before. However, please note that your previous username and password will not work with this new version — you’ll need to create a new account when you first log in.

Applying for a Name Change for your Business Entity or Sole Proprietorship, log into your account here.

4. Click the “Apply” next to PE -COA Amend Credential
5. Email dbr.designprof@dbr.ri.gov after the amendment is submitted

Applying for a change of the PE in Responsible Charge, log into your account here.
