Individual Architect Registration

Instructions for those registrations that expired on 12/31/2025,

0-6 months (up to June 30, 2026) – log into your account to renew.  A $60 late fee is added to your $120 renewal fee.

6 months to 2 years (July 1, 2026 up to December 31, 2027) - Contact the Board at dbr.designprof@dbr.ri.gov to request a paper renewal application package.  Complete the renewal application and submit it with the tax paper status affidavit, proof of the required continuing education hours, a brief out of activities set forth during your lapsed period and check in the amount of $180 ($120-Renewal fee, $60-Late fee).  When received, your renewal application will be presented to the Board at its next tentatively scheduled meeting.

Notice - An Individual Architect Registration is not enough! All Firms (Entities) are required to obtain a Certificate of Authorization (COA).

Reinstatement Instructions

Instructions for those registrations that expired on 12/31/2023, expired over 2 years (January 1, 2024 and after) – You must submit a reinstatement application, $60 application fee and NCARB Record.

To reinstate, you must log into your account, https://elicensing.ri.gov

Please note the Department launched a new licensing system on November 3, 2025.  If you have not already done so, you must "Register" a New Account and FInd My License - 

Once you are logged in:

1. Click the 3 lines (hamburger icon) in the upper left-hand corner
2. Click “Entities”
3. On the right, click “Arrow” under Actions
4. Click “Credentials” at the top
5. Click “Details”
6. Architect Reinstatement Application – Click “Apply”
